Senior Adult Ministry

Senior adults play a vital role in the family atmosphere at First Baptist Church.  We believe there’s no time or place for retirement in our Christian journey.  Seniors teach preschool and children, work in mission organizations, reach out to our homebound members and sing together in our Senior Adult Choir (Amazing Grays).  You’ll find senior adults active and ministering in virtually every area of First Baptist Church.  Staying active and using the gifts and abilities that God has given us is the reason our First Baptist Church Senior Adults grow together and in the Lord.

 

Our senior adult family is fantastic, and we get together often.  Each month we gather for a time of fellowship and a program planned especially for Senior Adults at our Keenagers Luncheon.  We enjoy entertainment by performing groups and special guest speakers.  And we celebrate our Senior Adults at our yearly Senior Adult Luncheon in November.

 

There is also a opportunity for Senior Adults to travel together.  On our  “Spring Fling” in April we take a wonderful 4 - 5 day trip together each year.

 

We invite you to come and be a part of the wonderful Senior Adult Ministry here at First Baptist Church.

 

Keenagers

 

 The Keenagers age range from 55 to 99.  They meet the 2nd Thursday of each month at 11:15 AM, in the Chandler Family Life Center.  For more information on our Keenagers, please call the Activities Ministry at 744-0100.

Handbell Choirs

 

 Our Senior Adult Bells, the Joy Bells, meet each Thursday morning at 9:00 AM, just before Amazing Grays. If you are interested in being a member of this year's choir or need more information, please call the Music Office at 744-7061.

Amazing Grays

 

Begins September 9.  The Senior Adult Choir meets each Thursday at 10:00 AM in the Music Suite .  Regular activities for the choir includes: visits to the local nursing home, singing in the worship service, and the annual choir tour.  For more information please contact the Music Office at 744-7061.

 

Senior Adult Canasta

 

Our Senior Adults meet each Friday at 1:00 PM, in the Chandler Family Life Center 2nd floor Senior Adult Room to play Canasta.  For more information, please call 744-0100.
