a place to grow

Please take a moment to look over all the opportunities for vocal ministry within the FBCPG Worship Ministry. If you enjoy singing, you will see that there is a place for you.  We welcome you to join us!  For more information on any of these groups, please call the worship ministry office at 744-2806 or email us.

Worship Choir - Membership in the Worship Choir is open to college age students and adults. The Worship Choir not only leads in worship each Sunday, but also presents seasonal and thematic musicals and special events throughout the year. The Worship Choir rehearses in the music suite each Wednesday evening at 6:30.

Amazing Grays – Designed for those older adults who are available for daytime ministry, the Amazing Grays meets in the music suite on Thursday mornings at 10:00. A very active group, the Amazing Grays frequently sings at special events and churches throughout the Birmingham Metro area, and participates in an annual Choir trip.

Student Choir – The Student Choir ministry provides a special opportunity for students in grades 6 - 12 to minister through music and drama. The group meets in the music suite each Sunday at 4:00p.m. The Student Choir periodically sings throughout the year, and concludes the choir year with an annual Music Mission trip. Previous Mission trips have taken them across the country as they travelled to mission sites in Florida, Tennessee, Montana and Maine.

Children’s Choirs – Our music ministry group for Children is known as WAM (Worship and More). Children are important at FBCPG, and the care with which we provide for and plan for your children in Music Ministry reflects their importance.  Directed by well-trained, caring leaders, the goal of WAM is to not only educate your children musically but, more importantly, to develop and mature your children as worshippers. WAM is designed for children, grades 1 - 5 and meets on Sunday afternoons every three weeks during the school year immediately following morning worship. The children spend the afternoon in music-related activities, field trips, and Bible study opportunities.

Specialty Groups - For those interested in an additional commitment of time and talent, opportunities are offered for vocal ensembles, praise teams, and soloists. Participation is based on involvement in the Worship ministry and is by interview and/or audition with the Worship Pastor or the appropriate group director.
